Bookings are available for this extensive program from 1st June to 15th August.

All timming for shooting are subjet to seasonal changues.

Day 1:
Early a.m. Arrival at Ezeiza international airport Buenos Aires. After your weapons arecleared through customs a taxi will be waiting to transport you to Aeroparque national airport for our private charter light aircraft for a short flight direct to our fields situated in La Pampa region of central Argentina. Note: groups of 4-6 guns will be flown to Santa Rosa airport in a larger aircraft and then transported to the ranch by car which takes approx 1 hour longer.

Early p.m. Arrival at the ranch, introductions and welcome lunch, settle in and rest.

20.00 hrs Dinner.

Day 2:
07.30 hrs Breakfast.

08.30 hrs Walked up Partridge shooting over pointers, bag limit of 10 Partridges per gun.

Very easy walking over flat ground for several types of Partridge. A very experienced dog handler, working a team of dogs through stubble fields and rough grass, will accompany you. Expect to see large coveys of wild Partridges, birds rise freely within range of the gun, good teamwork between the line of guns and the dogs combined with the beautiful surroundings will make this a very enjoyable shooting experience for all. Bag limits are easily achieved.

12.30 hrs Lunch then rest for 2 hours.

14.30 hrs (Afternoon) Pigeon/Dove shooting Stood behind screens out in the open fields flight shooting the birds as they make their way home to the roosting areas. There are several types of Pigeons/Doves ranging from: large as our Woodpigeon to very small. This is large volume shooting at it’s very best. Expect to take several hundred shots at some of the fastest highflying birds that you will ever see. The Doves zip through the line of guns at 35 to 45yds high, truly exhilarating and very testing shooting, liken this experience to being on the busiest drive of your entire shooting career lasting two to three hours. Fast loading, straight shooting and concentration are required to hit the high scores. My best bag for one of these sessions was 156 selecting the highest birds in each pack.

17.15 hrs Quick pick up of all shot birds, clear up empty cases.

17.30 hrs Evening Duck flighting A short move to well constructed Duck shooting butts. Expect similar Duck flighting to what we experience here in the U.K. Shooting Ducks flighting into well fed ponds as the last remnants of daylight fade. There are many varieties of Duck in Argentina, five varieties of Teal just to mention one type. The guides at each hide site will deploy duck decoys. Note: 18.30 hrs strict cut off time is imposed.

18. 45 hrs Wild boar shooting out of high seats The first group of three clients after a quick bite to eat will prepare for Wild boar shooting. The guides, to three of their superbly constructed high towers will accompany the guns. The towers are situated in carefully selected areas where the boars congregate. This form of hunting is where the guides excel. Everything possible will be done to maximize the chance for all clients to take a shot at Wild boar. High-powered rifles are provided, and for those not fully familiar with them, will be given a short demonstration of their safe use. Wild boars in the La Pampa region of Argentina are very numerous and they grow to a huge size. Trophy boars of up to 185 kilograms are regularly taken, that is 30 stone !!! Trophy fees are payable as is Trophy preparation (please see attached price list) should you require this. The best time for Wild boar shooting is during a period of full moon. To have the very best chance of shooting a boar it is strongly recommended that you book your tour to commence two days before the full moon rises. Please see attached a full moon calendar for 2003.

21.00 hrs Dinner for the remainder of the group not participating in the Wild boar shooting.

End of Wild boar shooting Guns participating in the Boar hunting will be served a hot meal on their return to the ranch. The guides will determine how long is best to wait at the high seats for the Boar. They monitor exactly the times that the Boar visit the selected areas, and they will inform each client when they think that enough time has been expended at each area.

That ends the most action packed shooting day imaginable!

Plenty of time is built into the tour to rest and relax. I personally recommend that during these periods, you take a short nap or alternatively a refreshing shower then rest. This holiday has been planned to perfection to take full advantage of the outstanding sport that Argentina has to offer. Plenty of rest will ensure that you do exactly that.

Day 3:
07.30 hrs Breakfast.

08.00 hrs (Morning) Pigeon/Dove shooting At sunrise you will be set up fairly close to the roost areas. Here you will be shooting at the Pigeons and Doves as they leave the roost. You will be deployed directly under the birds’ flightlines as they make their way out to the feed fields. This type of shooting is hot-barreled action, fast and furious. Thousands of birds leave the roost in a very short period of time. First to jump are the Doves and then half an hour or so later the Pigeons. Birds cross the line of guns at challenging heights with breakneck speed, an unbelievable hours shooting, and a good warm up for the testing day ahead.

Alternatively, you could be set up in the feed fields where the birds are flighting. The first smaller packs to show come high and fast providing superb shots to test the very best guns. Later, as more and more birds arrive at the field they will quickly congregate into bigger flocks. The guides will keep these flocks on the move, driving the birds away from the field. These flocks then flight back across the waiting guns providing them with every conceivable angle and variation of shot. Expect enough shooting to thoroughly satisfy the most discerning of sportsmen. Our best bag for three guns shooting for three hours in a good field was 650 birds picked!

12.00 hrs Quick pick up of all shot birds and empty cases.

12.30 hrs Lunch then rest for 2 hours.

15.00 hrs Walked up Partridge shooting over pointers.

18.30 hrs Tea and a quick bite to eat.

18.45 hrs Wild boar shooting for the second group.

21.00 hrs Dinner for the remainder of the group, Wild Boar shooters will be provided with a hot meal on their return.

Day 4:
07.30 hrs Breakfast.

08.00 hrs (Morning) Pigeon/Dove shooting.

12.00 hrs Quick pick up of all shot birds and empty cases.

12.30 hrs Lunch then rest for 2 hours.

15.00 hrs Horse riding or horse drawn carriage or rest and relax I fully recommend that everyone opt to take an afternoon riding. None of my group had previously ridden a Horse yet we all had a fantastic time. The Gaucho saddles are like armchairs; the horses are very docile and easy to ride. A charming way to look around the ranch, please try it, we had a great laugh!

18.30 hrs Tea.

18.45 hrs Wild boar shooting for those that would like another chance.

21.00 hrs Dinner.

Day 6:
04.00 hrs Early call and a quick bite for breakfast.

04.30 hrs Prompt departure from the ranch to Travel for approx one and a half hours to Guatrache for goose shooting; short stop for coffee on the way. Small overnight bags with a change of clothes required. The group will be stopping out this evening at a small but comfortable Hotel near to the Goose shooting area.

07.30 hrs Decoyed Magellan Goose shooting (Upland goose) The Magellan goose breeds and spends the summer in the Falkland islands. They then fly North to central Argentina in early June to over winter. These geese are about Greylag size, which call very similar to Pinkfoot when in flight. Like all wild geese, they are very wary. We have employed the services of a professional goose guide to get us right in among the birds. Pit blinds are dug in the middle of lush grazing fields offering the clients a unique opportunity to have the decoys placed all around them. Expect to see very large skeins of geese that decoy freely. There are no bag limits and very good bags are shot. To see and hear hundreds of geese is very exciting, to have them decoy right into the center of a large decoy spread is awe-inspiring.

09.30 hrs Pick up birds and clear away.

10.30 hrs Breakfast in the Hotel.

11.30 hrs Leisurely walk around the small town, postcards, a little shopping, or rest and relax.

12.30 hrs Lunch in the Hotel, then rest and relax.

12.00 hrs Goodbye’s, then visit a national hunting reserve for lunch and view the Red deer. The Red deer trophies of the La Pampa region are enormous. Here you will visit the Parque Luro hunting reserve for a few hours to view the animals.

17.00 hrs Souvenir and gift shopping in Santa Rosa. A chance to buy a few things for the family. I recommend that you buy gifts in Santa Rosa. The prices here are much cheaper than in Buenos Aires. Trophy preparation fees
Example:
  • Full head mount Wild boar (mouth open)
    U.S.A. $230.00
  • Puma (mountain lion) carpet (mouth open)
    U.S.A. $300.00
  • Wild boar tusk mount on a wooden plaque
    U.S.A. $15.00

These prices do not include the trophy’s air transportation from Buenos Aires. I am not aware of the quality of the taxidermists work. The prices are most acceptable when comparing with prices here in the U.K. I did see several mounted heads during my stay in La Pampa that were reasonable.

For Wild boar, possibly the best option would be to have the tusks mounted on a plaque. This can be done for you at the ranch.

Cartridges
The first 1,000 cartridges for each gun are included in all tour prices. Large stocks of extra shells are available at the ranch.

The guides will look after your cartridge requirements. Each client will be given a large capacity cartridge bag, clearly marked with your name. These will be topped up at the end of each shooting session. The guides keep an accurate record of exactly how many cartridges each client has used.

Extra ammunition is charged at U.S.A. $ 0.40 per cartridge. Approximately £ 170.00 per 1,000.

We supply good quality mirage 28 gram cartridges.

Please note: this is the real cost for cartridges in Argentina. Many other operators grossly inflate the cost. You will appreciate that each client can fire a great deal of ammunition. Our policy of charging the cost price for extra ammunition reflects our commitment to you the client.

Cartridge prices are subject to changhes due to high inflation in Argentina.

Air travel
Many airlines fly daily services to Buenos Aires.

For Europeans:

(England) Flying direct from the U.K. is without doubt the most expensive option. Cheaper flights are available using any of the airline operators on the continent.

The flight to Buenos Aires takes approximately fourteen hours. Jetlag is not a problem as local time in Argentina is only four hours behind G.M.T. Return, economy class airfare from the U.K. can be as little as £ 450.00 with Lufthansa, departing Manchester via Frankfurt.

Visas are not required for entry into Argentina for U.K. passport holders.

For Americans:

As an example, the cost New York – Buenos Aires is about U.S.A $ 500.00. The flight to Buenos Aires takes approximately ten hours.

Taking your guns with you
12 bore shotguns are recommended, the cartridges are much cheaper and easier to obtain. Argentina is welcoming with regard to the importation of firearms by visiting sportsmen.

All that is required is to travel with your country shotgun/firearms certificates, and declare the weapons at the police office on arrival at Buenos Aires international airport in Ezeiza.

It will only take fifteen minutes to fill out the necessary documentation and you will be issued a permit costing U.S.A. $40.00 per weapon, which is valid for sixty days.

I strongly recommend that you have your shotgun serviced by a competent gunsmith before your holiday, due to the amount of shots that it will no doubt fire.

Ensure that all arms are secured in sturdy motor/travel cases marked ‘’fragile’’ for the flight.

Any subsequent visits require a certificate issued by the Argentinean consulate general located in each country.

Currency
U.S.A. dollars are widely accepted. However, I recommend that you do exchange U.S.A. $100.00 into Argentinean pesos on your arrival at Ezeiza international airport. This will go a long way here.

Cigarettes for example are USA $ 1 per packet. Having a small amount of local currency for minor purchases will save a lot of trouble. Unless you intend to buy extravagant gifts, you will not require a great deal of spending money, just about everything that you need will be provided for you.

Please take enough U.S.A. dollars to buy at least 1,000 extra cartridges and possibly more. Please take cash, cards are not generally accepted in rural Argentina.

Clothing & Equipment
Normal shooting clothes are fine, Waterproofs, Wellingtons or good hunting boots.

Good quality ear defenders, Shot counter (to keep a score) Camouflage gear (optional) Gun Cleaning kit, a couple of changes or other clothes.
